Brewing the best Dutch beers isn’t easy these days. There are a huge number of breweries that claim to brew the best Dutch beers, which isn’t necessarily wrong. There are many quality beers to discover on the Dutch beer market. The beauty of Dutch quality beers is that the Dutch aren’t afraid to experiment a lot when it comes to brewing. There are so many different beer styles that it’s starting to get hard to keep track of everything. Across the Netherlands, breweries are experimenting with ingredients to find their holy grail. There are the well-known beer styles such as: pilsner, IPAs and bock beers. And then there are the experimental brews that make the Dutch beer market so special.

 

On a typical day, we play with the familiar: unfiltered lager, silky hefeweizen, smoky porters and American pale ales. But the owl is a nocturnal animal, and so are we. In the dead of night, we explore the beer extremes in our medieval city of Haarlem. Using only the world's best hops, results in our famous hoppy beer that is enjoyed around the world. Being one of the breweries that brews the best Dutch beers is never a boring task, which is why we strive to bring you endless amounts of f*cking good beer!

Characteristic taste of our hoppy beers

Our hoppy beers are brewed using only the finest hops, harvested exclusively from very specific locations around the world. Take the Cascade hop, for example, which is harvested in one of our top-secret hop fields in the United States, south of Portland, Oregon, near Highway 5, along Crosby Road. It is at this top-secret hop research facility where the journey of the hop flower begins, ultimately becoming a hoppy, quality beer. The Cascade hop, for example, is one of our most precious ingredients for some of our quality beers. Quality beers such as: Bird of Prey and Cascade Green Sweater.

 

Some of the best Dutch beers have a very distinctive bitterness, that's because of the hops used. This is exactly why we value the use of premium hops very highly. The first rule of the "owl school": when using hops, don't think in buckets, but in wheelbarrows. We brew our hoppy beers using only the best hops in the world. With all these different types of hops, we don't hesitate to experiment with combining different types of hops and adding unorthodox flavors such as pineapple, raisin, mango, guava, peach, walnut, pine needles, caramel-mandarin and many more ingredients that make our quality beer ever so special and unique. All of our hoppy beers are truly one of a kind!
